Bikram Yoga Testimonials Keirsten McIntire "Bikram yoga has become a main topic of conversation and has changed my life. In February of 2010, I was in a bad car accident and suffered from extreme whiplash and excruciating migraines. For my initial treatment I was sent to a chiropractor several times a week. Over time my migraines got progressively worse, with loss of vision, numbness, and loss of speech. In January, I started attending Bikram Yoga, and after two classes I was hooked, and knew in my heart this would be the way to becoming a healthier me. Not only did I feel incredible, my migraines were gone. I have only had one migraine since I started. Thank you all for your continued faith and support in me. Namaste!" Bryan Isaac "Just before Christmas I had both of my knees replaced. The rehabilitation process has at best been disappointing. I came to Bikram full of skepticism. As I watched everyone else do the poses, I knew it wasn't for me. My efforts looked like a caricature of what the class was doing. But with a bit of encouragement, I came back. I did my 10 day introduction and I am now 22 days into my first 30 day challenge. I've learned that Bikram really is about you, not about how you compare to others. When I started Bikram I could bend my knees painfully to 90 degrees. I can now bend them to 130. Last Wednesday, I'm sure the others in the locker room thought I'd lost it as I was standing there grinning like a Cheshire cat. For the first time in at least 15 years I had the balance, flexibility and single leg strength to stand up and put my pants on rather than sitting in the bench wriggling into them. I dropped my keys at work and instead of squatting down I bent at the waist and scooped them up. There are still moments of discouragement. I'm always the tallest person in the room during awkward pose. I'm sitting on the bar stool instead of the chair, but the stool gets progressively lower. I'd like to thank the owners and teachers for their assistance and patience. I'd also like to thank my fellow students. You have welcomed and encouraged me. You have shared anecdotes of your personal successes and failures. And I would be remiss if I didn't give a special thank you to Heather. Heather is a charming lady who shared her love of Bikram with a total stranger in the sauna at Cottonwood. The joy in her face overrode my initial skepticism as she described what at first blush seems insane. Working out in 105 degrees? Who would do that? Thank you for the gift of a chance for better health and for hope that I truly can be better than I was." Chrystal Cahoon "WOW!! I didn't realize it has already been a year. How exciting! Bikram yoga has done so much for me in ways of personal growth and all around strength in mind-body connection. I want nothing more than to become the best I can be and this practice helps me. I have learned so much about myself in the past year. I achieved a 31-day challenge in March. The beginning was very hard and it felt exhausting at times. Then, my body sailed through the rest of the challenge as if it were meant to be. I learned how the body, an amazing and complicated machine, communicates with the brain and spirit, and together work in harmony to do extraordinary things. I knew that upon my accomplishment I would see the world in a whole new light. I understood that I would open up the possibilities to reach a beautiful awareness, a higher level of consciousness that is one step closer to Oneness all within myself and then in turn share that gift with others by ways which present themselves. The physical achievements are a bonus. I now feel stronger, healthier, younger and more beautiful. This process is a healing tool, a way of healing the wholeness of the body. Each day I am greeted with warm smiles and kind words, hugs, and sweet affection. I am so grateful for the kind staff at Bikram Yoga Sugarhouse. You have all treated me so well and have made it seem like we are a family. I LOVE this studio for all that everyone in it has done for me and for what I've seen it do for others. Thank you Bikram Yoga for an outstanding year and the many more to come." |
